Life gets so busy and intense.  It's hard to find time and sometimes even the motivation to create and engage with art, even though artistic expression gives us motivation and energy, often when we're feeling drained.  Seek, and one will find.

I went to a union convention feeling tired and drained after a day full of Zoom meeting and on the heels of a full week of teaching.  I was inspired and energized by the joy, leadership, and commitment from all of my union siblings across Illinois.  

I'll carry this feeling of renewal into my next adventure:  Folk Alliance Region Midwest or FARM.  My 3rd and final year as a hometown girl at this conference in Naperville (NOT CHICAGO!) as it moves North to Minneapolis in 2026 and beyond.  This conference always feels like a gift as an artist.  I've been able to connect to so many incredible people, take inspiration and excellent advice from across the industry and around the world music, as well as make new friends and reconnect with old friends.   I'm eager to add more great memories to the kaleidoscope I  started back in 2023. This year, I'm performing at a a few private showcases on Friday and Saturday, both late in the evening.  Say hello if you're there!

Hey, hey, hey and happy new year!  I'm releasing my album Hiding Out In Plain Sight on my birthday, January 19th, 2024.  The album will be available to stream on all of the platforms:  spotify, youtube, itunes, pandora, etc.  It will also be available for pre-order on January 8th.  Or right here on my website.  

This album is a culmination of 2 decades, but it really started to come into fruition during 2022 and 2023. I'm excited to share it throughout 2024.

Renee Nanzer's upcoming album "Hiding Out in Plain Sight" features a unique blend of Americana, folk, and blues music.
